Double Slider Birthday Surprise!

Hi everyone! It’s been a busy week with my little toddler, but I finally got some time to get crafty today! Today, I created a card on behalf of my mom for my little niece’s birthday and I thought it would be fun to finally use Lawn Fawn’s Double Slider Surprise!

To make this card, I used (yet again… but I just love this set!) the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamps and dies. Here are the steps I took to create this card:

  1. I stamped multiple of the images from Lawn Fawn’s Fairy Friends set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in hues of purple, pink, and teal using Copic markers. I also stamped some images from the Lawn Fawn’s Baked With Love stamp set.
  2. I die cut all of the images I previously colored and the pieces to the Lawn Fawn Double Slider Surprise. Also, I wanted the fairies to have some grass to stand on (or fly above), so I die cut some of the extra panels of the Slider using Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Border die. Note: There was a lot of die cutting to be done! I just put on a Hallmark movie and took my time!
  3. I wanted the Slider panels to have a cloudy background, so I used Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders dies to cut some scraps of paper and make my own cloudy stencil (I really need to get a cloud stencil!). I used the stencil I created and some distress oxide ink in the color shaded lilac to make the background. I also color the grass borders I previously cut using distress oxide cracked pistachio ink.
  4. I put the Slider mechanisms together using the die cut pieces, cutdown strip from a grocery bag, and 1/8″ double sided tape. Note: I recommend watching the Lawn Fawn video tutorial on how to put it together.
  5. Lastly, I decorate the double slider panels with the fairies and cake, added a heat embossed sentiment, and glued it to an A2 size card. I did add a background panel using pattern paper I had on my stash of craft supplies.

Here is a look at the card (double sliders inside):Here is a look of the card with the double slider panels pulled out:To finish this project off, I created a matching envelope to go with it using the 123 We R Memory keepers board.

I absolutely love this interactive card… specially for kid cards! While the slider did take some time to figure out (thank you Lawn Fawn for the many video tutorials!!!), I do love the end result and it works amazing. I can’t wait to make more cards like this!

That’s it for this post! Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!!!!

Thanks,

Yami
