Hi everyone! It has been a while. I have been incredibly busy between the holidays, travel, and some sick days that it has been hard to take some time to craft and post on the blog. Finally my family (including my little one) are back to being healthy and I finished my Christmas Tags project!
Christmas is my very favorite holiday! I just love the lights, the songs, the movies (love the Hallmark channel!), and most of all, spending time with my love ones. This year I wanted to make my own Christmas Tags! So with life being so busy these last few weeks, I decided that I will tackle my Christmas Tags project slowly and do has much as I could between the holidays and travel and just every day life. To start with I created a plan of what I wanted to do (which involved lots of coloring!) and created a on-the-go and tackle a bit a time kind of setup. So here are the steps I took:
1. Stamped all the images I wanted to color onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using my MISTI and Memento Black ink (which is great for Copic coloring). I mainly used images from the Simon Says Stamps December 2017 kit Milk and Cookies!, but also used Stamps from Art Impressions, Stampin Up!, and Recollections.2. I colored all the images using Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. I colored these during my holiday travels or in between breaks from my every day mommy-to-a-toddler life :)! It took me a while to finish all the coloring but it was mighty relaxing to do! Also, I am new to coloring using Copic markers but I absolutely love it!!! I totally recommend taking the Copic class for Cardmakers from onlinecardclasses.com! It is incredibly helpful!3. Fussy cut each of the images using my EK Success Cutter Bee scissors. While this was a time consuming task, I did this while watching some Christmas movies and found it relaxing!4. I cut up a lot of pieces of pattern paper and white cardstock into tags using two of the Gina K. Designs Decorative Tag dies. I stamped the Merry Christmas greeting from the Simon Says Stamps December Cookies and Milk kit onto each tag, taped my colored pieces, and added some red and white twine. I also put some wink of Stella on some of the images! See my Christmas Tags below:BONUS PROJECT: Of coarse I had to do some extra tags!!! It is the season of giving after all! To make some quick tags, I decided to use the Gina K. Designs Foil-Mates Tag Tidings Sentiments, Fancy Foils, and the Decorative Tag dies. These were so quick and easy to do and they looked amazing and sparkly!!!The last thing I wanted to share with you was a picture of my son “helping” to decorate our Christmas tree! He was actually taking the ornaments off the tree tho :). That said, I want to wish you all a happy holiday and a happy new year!
