Creating a Fun and Colorful Scene!

Hi! Happy New Year! I have had a couple of busy weeks. I have returned to work full time and the Holidays kept me busy. Now all is finally settling down and this past week I worked on two fun cards! Some of my favorites actually!

These two cards are fun and colorful one layer cards with adorable scenes! Now this was my first time making full scene card designs and let me tell you… I LOVED THE PROCESS! I got to use a lot of my favorite techniques like sponging, masking, and Copic coloring… but the best part was seeing how it all came together in the end.

CARD #1: An Arrr-mazing Pirate scene

My first card features the My Favorite Things Party Like a Pirate stamp set. All of the background for this card was done using Distress Oxides and color sponging. The images were colored using Copic markers. To finish it, I added clear Wink of Stella to the water which in real live it looks gorgeous. Side Note: I felt inspired by Kelly Latevola as I created this card. She makes amazing one layer scene cards! She’s such an inspiration!

CARD #2: A Space Birthday Mission

My second card features the My Favorite Things Space Explorer stamp set. To make the galaxy background, I used Distress Oxide inks and did a lot of sponging. I also splattered water, shimmer spritz, and white acrylic paint to finish the galaxy look. This was my first galaxy background, and I just want to make more of them! All the images were colored using Copic markers. I finished the card by adding clear glossy accents to the helmet and the rocket window.

These two cards were a blast to make and I can’t wait to make more!

Thanks!

Yami
