An Up in the Air Farewell Card

Hi! This week I made a farewell card for a work colleague who’s been an amazing member of our work team for years! I wanted to make something fun and vibrant has I wanted it to be a happy farewell card. Here is what I came up with!

To make this card, I first made the background. I used painters tape to mask some stripes evenly spaced and sponged the open areas using Candy Apple Distress Oxide ink. I applied the ink from left to right, applying it heavier on the left for a gradient look. My one advice doing this is to be careful removing the tape as it can tear the paper. I had two boo boos; one is very tiny so it was not a bit deal, but the second one was pretty big… I fixed it by covering it up with my images!

Next I stamped images from the My Favorite Things stamps Up in the Air stamp set and colored them using Copic markers. I fuzzy cut the images and added them to the background using foam squares for dimension. Lastly, I rounded the two bottom corners of the card, added wink of Stella to the clouds and finished with a few liquid pearls dots in blue.

I love this card! It’s simple but vibrant! My coworker was so excited to get this card!

Ok now back to working on Valentines days cards! Thanks!

Yami
